As the winner, Fantasia was poised for big things. And her first single "I Believe" did not disappoint, reaching number one on the U.S. Singles chart. On November 23, Fantasia released her first album "Free Yourself," which debuted at number eight on the charts. While the album didn’t sell as many copies as those of other Idol winners, it was met with much praise from music critics. Despite the lackluster sales, Fantasia was determined to make her mark and soon published a book titled the book Life Is Not a Fairy Tale, and starred in a Lifetime movie about herself, The Fantasia Barrino Story. With her second album ready to drop in 2007, it looks like Fantasia is going to be going strong for many years to come.
